Outlook 2013 cann't connect with Live Hotmail Outlook.com

Hi Team,

I don't know; might be because of not final release but there is some issue in connection with Outlook 2013..

I can configure My Office Exchance Server mailbox with Outlook 2013 but can't configure/ connect Live Outlook.com with Desktop Office 2013 - Outlook.

I tried 3-4 times but everytime, i got the folders inside my desktop outlook 2013 but not getting any emails in that... Even i restart my system/ outlook 2013 but didn't get connected...

I have configured my Office Mail & this live outlook.com in desktop Office 2013 Outlook. When I open that everytime i got updates in my office mailbox but after few tried i got an message in statusbar "Disconnect" for my outlook.com account...

Don't know how would i connect/ configure because folders i got but didn't get any emails in that...

Unread item hint on Outlook folders is not so obvious any more

I miss visual clues on mailbox folders.

1) No icons any more. The icons helped me to find/spot special folders more easily, like RSS, outbox, sent items and so on.

2) The unread item count in folders (very useful in RSS subscription folders) does not give enough visual hint to see new unread items in a folder. Please make those folder names bold again. I guess you want only the current folder to be displayed in bold but as you change the background color of the selected folder as well there is still an easy distinction between the current folder and folders with unread items.

Problems with Folders (Imap) - Outlook 2013

There appears to be a number of issues/problems with the folder structure, certainly when using Imap, in Outlook 2013 :-(

Files that have been deleted in the Trash folder can reappear later, sometimes randomly, even though they have previously been cleared out from the folder. Also I now have the trash folder showing sometimes that there is 1, sometimes more files in the trash folder but when I check, it appears empty.

There doesn't appear to be the full control available to Imap folders in Outlook 2013 that there was with previous versions of Outlook and I suspect some problems are happening because of issues to do with the default 'trash' folder.

I wonder if anyone else is noticing similar or other problems related to folders, certainly when using an Imap account (I don't use POP so not sure if these issues are showing up when using that type of account)?

Just downloaded the trial of office 2013 before I read about the brightness issue.  I am using a 30 inch monitor and feel like there is a spotlight hitting me in the eyes.  Set monitor brightness to low and still bad.  My eyes hurt.  I teach special students and this could be a problem.  I now understand that the final release will have several shades from eye burning white to gray... but now I will wait and see....if I still have vision left. 

Congratulations on Windows 8  I have been using it for about a week and a half and found it very easy to migrate to.  Ive been a windows user since version 1 which I still have on floppies!  

The decision to make Office 2013 this bright was not a great decision on the developers part.  A one size fits all only produces average results... like all weather tires... so im hoping that the final release will be a far greater improvement.

OneNote feature request: Mind Mapping

I am really missing this feature on one note. I use one note to organize my life and research. I have to update mind-maps in 3rd party tools and then paste picture in one note. Is this feature coming in office 2013 version? If not are there any plans? I am sure there will be millions others like me missing this feature.

Can't view images in email on outlook 2013

I have tried every setting I can think of but to no avail.  I did a search in the help section, but could not find anything to help me there.  If it is a protected mode, I am unable to find how to change it.  Any help given will be much appreciated.  I should add that old emails opened prior to installing outlook 2013 can be opened to view remote content and images.  However new emails cannot be viewed.  I have Mozilla Thunderbird installed and it works fine, so I know it is not an issue with my whole OS (Win 7 Pro).

Flagged mail icons are too similar to non-flagged icon

In 2010, a great feature is being able to flag email to follow up, and then mark them complete throughout the day.

In 2013 I find this very hard because unflagged email looks the same as flagged email, until you focus on the flag and comprehend the color.

I recommend changing the unflagged email icont, or at the very least make it a light/transparent grey so flagged emails stand out in comparison.

Sync Outlook signatures between two machines

Hello,

I thought Office 2013 will sync the application settings between two PCs? It does not work with my signatures in OL. Is this an expected behavior?

I´m signed in with my Microsoft Account in both installations.

Any idea?

Office 365 Installation issues

So here is what I did.

I installed the Office 365 in my computer. I own the Office 2010 Professional and everything went well. After doing so, I saw in the bottom of the menu on my Microsoft Online portal that it said desktop setup. And that I needed to install certain tools so Office 2010 would work well with the new Office 365. So I installed them and all of a sudden my Office crashed! I couldn't open any of my files or any of the office applications! I freaked out and hit repair to my Office 2010 and that restored my files back to Office 2010. I tried to uninstall Office 365 and after several failed attempts I finally did it. Now when I am trying to re-install it, it won't even let me run it... It says an error message that reads:

Couldn't install

We're sorry, but can't verify the signature of files required to install your Office product. We need to verify these signatures to keep your computer safe. Please retry installing your product, or if installation continues to fail, try re-downloading your installer if you got it online. Make sure you only download Office products from a trusted source.

I have Windows 8 and my computer meets all the requirements.

OneNote 2013 can't get to my notebooks on Skydrive

Hi,

Since a few days I'm having trouble opening my OneNote notebooks (located on SkyDrive) in OneNote 2013.

OneNote simply gives the message:

"We can't get to your notebooks right now. Please try again later."

I'm certain everything just worked fine last week and to my understanding there are no updates installed since. I was working on the Preview Release of Office 2013 Pro Plus and because of this problem I have reinstalled Office 2013 to the RTM version. But without any luck.

I also stopped OneNote and removed all cache files (c:\users\user\appdata\local\microsoft\onenote), but without any luck either.

I searched for this problem and I turns out that sometimes a proxy server can be the pain of this problem, but now I'm at home and I have the same problem.

Has something changed on SkyDrive why this isn't working anymore?

I can open SkyDrive on the web. My windows 8 native app is also showing up-to-date information and my skydrive desktop app is also syncing normally.

It's pretty annoying. I stopped using RES Hyperdrive (company default) for the same kind of problems and I don't want to switch again.

Has someone or Microsoft has encountered the same problem and perhaps have a solution for it?

import autocomplete stream/nickname file from outlook 2010 to outlook 2013

can't see where outlook 2013 stores its autocomplete stream...i can find my outlook 2010's location:

%appdata/local/microsoft/outlook/roamcache

how can i import that into outlook 2013?

Outlook 2013 To-Do Bar Appointments with only one Day????

Hi!

I just stop using Outlook 2013 Preview and switch back to Outlook 2010 for ony ONE reason:
The Outlook 2013 Preview To-Do Bar show only Appointments from current day.
No overview over the appointments of the next day.

With this tool no one can work!
I think this is a real joke from Microsoft to cancel this feature.

What was the reason to remove this feature?

Configurate IMAP-Folders (Sent, Deleted) in Outlook 2013

How do I configurate IMAP-Folders in Outlook 2013?

In Outlook 2010 you could select your prefered server folder for "Sent" and "Deleted" to store mails directly on the server.

In 2013 the Tabs are Missing:

All other imap settings are eactly the same.

Is it a bug or did they moved this setting to a different place?

I want to save my sent Mails on the IMAP server.

Office Web Apps Online Viewer

According to the Overview for Office Web Apps (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219437(v=office.15).aspx), I should be able to use Office Web Apps to render url- or unc-accessible documents in a browser. 

I have Office Web Apps 2013 Preview running on a single dedicated server.  I can access the discovery info athttp://myserver/hosting/discovery , but am not sure what to do with the information it provides.

I can use the http://myserver/op/generate.aspx link to generate links to my files, but I get an error message when I try to use the links to display my files in a viewer (I can, however, display a file from the web)

So this link works (for the word doc www.mltweb.com/prof/testdoc.doc):  http://myserver/op/view.aspx?src=www.mltweb.com%2Fprof%2Ftestdoc.doc, and document is rendered correctly.

But this link doesn't (for a word doc on a network unc, \\usermachine\Users\username\Documents\Client Installation.doc): http://myserver/op/view.aspx?src=%5C%5Cusermachine%5CUsers%5Cusername%5CDocuments%5CClient%20Installation.doc.  The error message is:

"File Not Found

The URL of the original file is not valid or the document is not publicly accessible.

Verify the URL is correct, then contact the document owner."

I did verify that the URL is correct, and I'm thinking that I should be using the info in the discovery xml to format my links, but I don't know how.  I read through the WOPI specifications (link below), and it says that I should be using an access token, but I don't see it.

I can't remove RSS feeds. They keep recreating and duplicating

After installing Office 2013 Preview I subscribed to RSS feeds from PC World. However, after the restart I've noticed that the folders (and messages) were duplicated. For example: After subscribing the folder "PCWorld" was created. After restart another folder PCWorld(1) was created and another one after next restart and so on. Also all the folders are being populated with the same feeds. When I remove them from Outlook, both folders and feeds in account settings they are again recreated.

The option Synchronize RSS Feeds to the CFL is UNCHECKED.

I also tried removing any info about RSS in %localappdata%\Feeds\ and \Feeds Cache\ but it didn't help.

The next step was removing the whole email account associated with the feeds and it helped but when I created a new account with the same email (@windowslive.com - EAS) the feeds reappeared. I'm stuck and baffled.

Does anyone know where else Outlook stores such information? Apparently a copy of the feeds is being kept somewhere.

I have installed it on 3 seperate machines with differeant accounts and OS. (win7 and win8 RC)

I really like to use it but all the hanging is making it really tough.

Excel 2013 64 bit stability?

Hi All,

I've been working last night and today with Excel 2013 (64bit) (on a Win 7 install), and my predominant experience has been frustration as in around 8 hours , I've had 10 to 15 or so Excel crashes.  Many of these seem to occur while doing normal stuff like editing a formula.

The workbook being worked on at the time is around 3MB's as an .xlsb and is smaller and simpler than the other workbooks and models I typically work with.  It is something that should be able to be handled easily - and no there are no corruptions in it.  I can revert to working with it in 2010 with no problems and have had to as the stability was making it difficult for me to be productive.

I am very keen to find out whether this is a common problem, or something particular to my set-up...I recognize I am in the minority for using the 64bit version, but it's necessary with the data sets I work with elsewhere.

Outlook 2013 and Windows 8 "people app" - sync incompatability

When installing Outlook 2013 on computer with Windows 8 - it does not sync the already existing contacts within the Windows 8 MAIL APP, or the Windows 8 PEOPLE APP. 

Prior to installing Outlook 2013, all my contacts existed within PEOPLE APP and the Win8 Mail app was able to access them. NOW, post installation of Outlook 2013, neither it, nor the WIN8 MAIL APP can access the contacts that are held by the WIN 8 People App. 

This is a big problem since the People app syncs all my hotmail / gmail / and corporate Exchange contacts together!
